Hotel Missoni ‘earns its stripes’ with VisitScotland 5 Star status

Fashion blended with functionality has helped Hotel Missoni reach for the stars and achieve them. VisitScotland officially awards Hotel Missoni the coveted Five Star Quality Assurance plaque in recognition of the hotel’s exemplary levels of quality, service and attention to detail.

Today’s award brings Edinburgh’s quota of Five Star hotels to nine. Hotel Missoni is in good company - joining the ranks of the 32 Five Star Quality Assured hotels (including Restaurants with Rooms) across Scotland.

VisitScotland’s Chief Executive, Philip Riddle, says: “Tourism growth is critical to
the future of Scotland and so it’s encouraging to see this level of ongoing investment in the sector. Hotel Missoni is undoubtedly raising the bar and helping keep Edinburgh and indeed Scotland in the spot light on the world stage.

VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance team was particularly impressed by the in-depth knowledge of the Hotel shown by every member of staff they encountered. “They live it and breathe it,” added Tony Mercer, VisitScotland’s Head of Quality and Standards.

Amongst the factors that helped Hotel Missoni achieve its Five Star ranking was the ability to deliver seamless hospitality and service, ensuring that guests’ needs are anticipated and exceeded. VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance team was also impressed by the way Missoni’s iconic style shone through, while still providing the services and facilities expected of a modern international city centre hotel.

VisitScotland has operated Quality Assurance grading schemes since 1986, and these are recognised worldwide. The scheme offers tourism operators an independent quality assurance award for accommodation, as well as many other sectors of the tourism industry.
