Afterward, make your way to Rhino Lodge, where you will be lodging tonight. Day 5. Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park. Your private guide will accompany you on a full-day excursion to experience the Ngorongoro Crater. Conveniently located only 25 minutes away from the Soneto Descent Road, Rhino Lodge offers the opportunity to be among the first cars down to the crater floor in the morning to capture the spectacular golden light. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and renowned as one of the most iconic wildlife areas globally, the Ngorongoro Crater is an impressive natural phenomenon. Created approximately two to three million years ago, the Crater is the world's largest inactive and intact volcanic caldera, formed after a massive explosion that led to its collapse. Across an area of 100 square miles, the crater's floor is mainly covered by grasslands, two small wooded areas, and a seasonal Salt Lake, also known as Lake Magadi or Lake Makat, at the center of the crater. The eastern crater wall features the Ngoitokitok, which serves as the other significant water source. Wildlife sighting is a relatively easy and exciting experience in the crater, and you can expect to cover a considerable area within a day. Later you’ll proceed to Serengeti National Park for your overnight. Today you’ll overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp The term "Kati Kati" means "center" in Swahili and is situated in the stunning central Seronera area of the Serengeti. This mobile camp comprises ten en-suite guest tents, ensuring a serene and intimate ambiance that's further enhanced by the amiable staff. Revel in an authentic bush experience while staying at this camp, and relish snacks and beverages around the campfire in congenial company, recounting your safari exploits of the day. Savour a moment to yourself in the lounge tent or library when not out exploring the wilderness, or simply soak up the untamed landscape while relaxing on your veranda, scanning for wildlife sightings. Day 6 – 7. Serengeti National Park. You will have a total of two days at your disposal to indulge in a private safari in Serengeti, an exceptional wildlife viewing destination throughout the year thanks to the abundance of games that call this area their home. An array of species such as zebra, topi, gazelles, impala, buffalo, and giraffe can be frequently spotted going about their routines in the region. While leopard sightings are rare, lions tend to be nearby. This lush and rolling grassland where watercourses are dotted with trees marks the northernmost location of the migration journey, alongside Kenya's Masai Mara. From July to October, the herds congregate on both banks of the Mara River, often braving the crocodiles as they cross back and forth in response to local weather conditions that only they appear to have grasped. While watching the renowned "River Crossing" is a must-do for many explorers, the event is unpredictable and ultimately subject to chance. You’ll stay in Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp The camp presents a remarkable chance to relish an authentic safari camp encounter while indulging in comfortable accommodations. It is nestled in the north of Serengeti, a mere ten-minute drive from Mara River. At the heart of the camp lies a warm and welcoming mess tent, where delectable meals are served.
